Katherine Laura Jennings (1990) is an art historian from Aotearoa New Zealand. She specialises in nineteenth-century material culture with an emphasis on sacred art and architecture from the western Christian tradition. Her work approaches material apparatus as mechanisms for the formation, consolidation, and expression of dogmatic assertions and devotional identities. Jennings examines encounters between consecrated spaces and objects and the people who build, occupy, make, view, or arrange them and have worshipped within, with, among, and around them.
