Davide Martino

Davide Martino is Postdoc in the Department of Architectural History and Preservation at the Universität Bern, Switzerland. He researches and teaches environmental and water histories of the early modern world, and is also interested in the history of science and technology as well as innovative methodologies for the environmental humanities. A PhD graduate from St John’s College, University of Cambridge, Martino completed his dissertation on ‘Hydraulic philosophy in early modern European cities’ in 2023. Prior to starting his PhD he worked as a primary school teacher, and remains passionate about the role of education in society.
